With a bit of luck you can see rare guests among the greater flamingos in the Camargue. Here we were able to photograph a Lesser Flamingo that had obviously ended up in the waters of the Camargue.

A wildlife photographer pointed out to us that a special specimen had gotten lost among the many greater flamingos, a lesser flamingo, which can be easily distinguished from the greater flamingos not only because of its smaller size but also because of its bright red eyes. But with so many birds, it also took a bit of luck to discover the little brother of the larger flamingos.

But suddenly we saw the ruby red eyes strutting right past us and here it is, the lesser flamingo.
